Our Esposito off to the Coast

“WITH luck, she will be very competitive”, was the way trainer Chris Munce assessed Our Esposito’s prospects at the Sunshine Coast today. Our Esposito (f3, Toorak Toff – She Goes To Rio) will tackle the Noosa Truss QTIS Maiden Handicap (1400m) with Jim Byrne in the saddle.

It will be her fifth race day appointment, the four previous starts yielding a best effort third under similar conditions on February 2. Our Esposito rises 1.5 kilograms in the handicaps to 55.5kgs on her last start third when Ron Stewart was her rider.

Munce said Our Esposito had been a steady learner and was improving “all the time”, a feature which could hold in her good stead this afternoon. "She has been a slow maturing filly but is getting better all the time and with a bit of luck from the nice barrier she will be very competitive today,” he said.

Youngster Global Choice has pulled up well, though a bit tired after her Doomben debut on February 17.  Global Choice (f2 Choisir – Global Start) finished at the tail of the field after racing wide from the outset. “She is feeling her legs after that run,” Munce said. “She will have a few easy days and then we will look at another race for her.”
